The committee of trustees who administer the Hall and organise community events took on a new shape yesterday (26/03/24). Several members have stepped down, including our long serving treasurer, Geraldine Flavell, who officially hands over the reins to new volunteer David Daniels next month. We are delighted to also welcome Rodney Paul and Ian Morgan to our number who join the existing team, Peter Willmot, Judith Lewis, Caroline Ellis and Andrew Mann.
We are delighted to announce the Parish Council has funded a new village map mounted on a lectern in the Village Hall garden.  The map shows our local footpaths and landmarks with some lovely illustrations.
Join the 'Active All Stars' Zumba exercise group every Wednesday 6-7pm at Marchington Hall. It’s loads of fun and a great hour’s workout with fabulous friends and the best music  £8 in advance by bank transfer or £8.50 on the night pay as you go.  Trainers on and water bottles at the ready for the dance of your life! Message Gill Hughes for more details or to book your spot.
Sue has been the Hall's volunteer events organiser for the last couple of years. She has been at the helm for many successful fund-raising events from music parties to craft shows and workshops. Take a look at the 'Past Events' section, where you will see 'Village Hall' events alongside others organised by local groups such as MADS.
Sadly, for health reasons, she has decided to step down from the committee and her role in it. We thank her for her invaluable contribution and wish her good health and happiness going forward.

If you would like to join the enthusiastic Hall committee as a volunteer then please get in touch.

The Hall Committee has been working behind the scenes for many months (years!) to plan and raise funds for very welcome  improvements to the façade of the village hall building. Plans were drawn up to meet the requirements of the conservation area for an attractive and substantial oak canopy to replace the unattractive and rather decrepit flat cover. Villagers will have seen that the project in now nearing completion and it will be formally 'opened' early in the new year.
